Sophia's turns 3!! + Party Sneak Peek

Yesterday our Sophia turned 3 years old!!
We love you sweetie so much!! From the first moment we knew we were having you we were sooo in love with you. You were kicking me wiggling around from the start.. I remember watching my entire belly move around. people across the room would notice!! you were ready to join the world... you are full of life and are always making us smile!

Three years of snuggles with Daddy..
and mommy tip toeing to grab the camera and sneak a photo before you wake up! ;)

She is just the sweetest little girl..
loves her 'nuggles' and cheesy roll ups.
Anything fairies, princesses and mermaids!
Oh and pirates. we acted like pirates all afternoon..
I made eye patches from headbands and felt.
sashes from leftover ikea red and white striped fabric.
I never realized how difficult it is to see with an eye patch on..haha. But I LOVE those silly moments with my sophie. She is such a blessing..and lights up my world. She is potty trained! yay! I'm beyond proud of her and soooooooo glad to only have 1 size of diapers in my purse right now. haha. Having her has made me such a better person. a more tired one maybe..;)..but I know that she has helped me to give of myself more..to love more and to be simple. I love the story time..the little "ohhh myyy gosh mommy!!" moments when she thinks I'm the most amazing mom when I do something crafty for her. The random dance parties. The "your the best mommy." I love everything about being sophie's mommy...and every day I see her growing and learning and i'm so proud of her. I love our sweet little conversations with each other. and how she says sneakers..neakers. and calls the van her van car. she makes everyone around her so happy..and puts up with everyone touching her curly awesome hair. she is going to do something amazing. Sienna loves her so much too...she thinks she is turning 3 like her big sister instead of 1. She is such a good big sister/"mommy"
Happy Birthday Sophia!!
xoxoxo

Sneak Peek: My Girls' Storybook Princess Party

busy busy lately.
Wish I could do a bigger post today
but we have a Once Upon a Time Land to build!! ;)
oh and a zillion other things to do that are way not as much fun..
like dishes..and laundry..

Here's the start of the Girls' Castle! A Princess Party isn't complete without one... It even has a drawstring bridge! The Cardboard Castle is coming along..It never hurts to ask the guy breaking down boxes at the Dollar Store if they have any extra!! He broke down and saved a handful for me! Yay Dollar Store! Putting on the finishing touches before I paint it with leftover pink ceiling paint that we never used.
Sophia sweetly requested that there be flags. haha.
She is beyond excited..and sienna has been going in and out of the doors...Love it!
Not going to make it much bigger than this because
I have a feeling this will be in our playroom for a while.. ;)
Here's the supplies I bought with coupons/on sale
from JoAnns for the Mermaid Candy Cove!
Can't wait to put it together with things I already have..
This little corner of the room is going to be so fun at the party!

This theme can be used for a little girl's birthday party, a baby shower, a bridal shower, a wedding, so many reasons to throw a party!
It's a favorite for many..so I thought I would share some of my favorite Pinterest Images of the Shabby Chic Theme
So if you are throwing a party with this look I hope this inspiration post helps!
and if you aren't..maybe you will now! ;) Very sweet, vintage and lovely touches!

Use ruffles and patterned fabrics through out the decor.

And how sweet are these mini buntings across the cake?!

White cake stands are perfect touches to any party..I love them.
I use them for everything. But if you don't have any..or need ALOT to get the look you want..there are plenty of great DIY's out there using candlesticks and plates..glued together and spray painted white. or you could use stove covers and wooden dowel rods! Have fun creating them as tall or short as you want.

Flowers.
Fill up mason jars or small crates. If you have any glass vases or jars that you aren't loving..paint them white or a shade to match your color scheme!
An easy DIY to turn unused items into favorite pieces!

I love the idea of using one of these ruffle shower curtains somehow in the party..maybe as a dessert table backdrop?? Depending on your budget..you could go with the urban outfitters one on left or the target version on the right!
