for Easter Activities with kids...

I love the little Peep Pal and the He is Risen Donut Tomb....

How are you connecting the Easter Bunny to the

reason for celebrating Easter?? (Jesus' Resurrection!!)

I told the girls the story..that after Jesus died for us on the cross..

he was put in a tomb with a biggggg rock blocking the door.

But Jesus moved it and angels came and he went to heaven and opened it up for us!!

So one day we could be with Him there too!

And the little Easter Bunny saw allllll of this amazing ness happen and

ever since has been bringing treats on Easter to celebrate Jesus rising from the dead!

The girls love the story. Would love to track down a book that is similar.

DIY DOLLHOUSE - My Craigslist Before & After

This was such a fun DIY Project!
We were on the hunt for a dollhouse to give our sophia(3) for Christmas..
but just could not find anything that was 1..in our budget..
and 2..wasn't HUGE and PINK.
(I wanted something a bit more neutral/could grow with her..
and look cute in her room!)
Thought I would share some of the inexpensive diy details
I used to make it fun for her!

Mod Podge/Double Sided Tape/Scissors
Graphics printed off computer- Kitchen, Bathroom Tile & Mirror, Fireplace, Frame graphics filled with photos or prints.

Watercolor Artwork- Ben's "don't spend money on me" Birthday Present

This past week was my hubby's birthday and
 I'm just now getting around to posting about it! (soooo busy.)
I was told to spend no money on presents for him...
I PARTIALLY listened.. ;)


We all got down on the floor and colored him a birthday banner to come home too.. 
sienna was of course trying to rip the paper and eat it. typical. this girl tries to eat everything. sophia was never really like that...my mom said I finally have a normal baby. ;)

I had been wanting to have sophia paint with watercolors...and thought it would be the perfect crafty diy birthday present! she LOVED painting..and I was so impressed with how "artsy" some of hers turned out!
I chose two to frame.. and the rest were saved to show daddy. :)
Sienna even got into it..I painted her sweet little chubby hands 
and pressed them down for some cute prints. 
And of course sophia had to paint her hands then too....;)

I ran by Ikea and got some inexpensive frames.
I'm so happy with how they turned out..

The birthday boy loved his presents!
We had a little get together with friends the day after his birthday.
It was going to be a cook out/picnic at the park..with bball for the guys/dads and the playground for the kids. but all of a sudden a huge storm came through (weatherman=fail) so we did a quick clean(hide) and had everyone over to our place instead. it was fun! and luckily the rain let up and we all went outside in the end to play!

I love you ben.

A Friend's Blog & DIY Genius.

I can't believe it has already been a year when our friends, Meg & Andy got married on New Years Eve! The wedding was amazing..and of course it would be with 
two creative people putting it together! 
Meg's husband worked with my husband before they recently
 moved to New York City for another job. 


So missing Meg but loving her blog- tripping over joy

Blast from the Past: Prepare to Giggle- My Crafty Childhood

Recently my mom brought up some of my old toys for sophia! 

I had a bunch of beanie babies that were perfect for her to play with!

when i was little i would crochet up little accessories for them! haha

it makes me laugh looking at all of them..

i would just make it up as i went. i loved creating something out of nothing.

We had plenty of yarn in the house (CARON yarns was a family company) 

We had cabinets in the basement full of yarn.

I loved a good project ever since i was little! ;) 

Sophie was thrilled with them!

 she kept putting the different purses and scarves and dresses on them. 

I might have to try and remember how i did it and make up some more for her. :)

Here you have your average working teddy. 

tie and briefcase (withhhh an outer pocket. haha.)

I opened it and found these... at the top i put where my dad used to work.

my favorite is the purple dress with the matching headpiece..seriously cracks me up.

ps. the dresses have a low v cut back. pretty cute. haha.

I made a cow angel.....haha. o yes....with wings and a halo.

hope that was amusing.

it made me smile reminiscing!

Sophia's Felt Food- My Favorite Tutorials

For Sophia's 2nd birthday this year i wanted to give her something very very soft to play with because of the new baby's arrival! and at the same time she lovessss all things kitchen and cooking. "watcha cookin??" that's all i hear when i'm in the kitchen. over..and over...and over again. haha. :)

so with the help of my fabulously talented mom...we whipped up some fun felt food! she brought up felt that she had since i was a little girl! so we used up the scraps big and small. already had thread. and only ended up running to Joann's to get some fun thread for "sprinkles" and other cupcake toppings. 
talk about a budget friendly birthday present!

You can create a lot with just pictures..

so hope the ones we made get you started!

Below I've listed some links to my favorite felt food tutorial sites I have come across! for most of them we used the basic patterns found on the sites..some of them you just end up winging it and seeing how it ends up. I was loving making them with my mom.. and sophia loves playing with them! her uncle daniel (my little brother) was genius enough to throw the felt donuts in the air and she thought that was hilarious and has decided that that is now the official way you play with the donuts. throwing them. :)
