One of the things I love most about Ben...

One of the things I love most about my husband, Ben, is his passion for ministry.
Ever since I met him I have seen his desire to serve others and tell people about Christ.
Not only with words..but through his actions.
He has given his life to tell people about Christ's love for them.
He is a youth minister...and I think he has one of the most important jobs.
One of the greatest poverties is thinking you are not loved.
So many of our youth don't realize that they have a God that loves them...
that they are worthy of love.
He helps his teens form a relationship with God.. helps them to realize that prayer can be a simple conversation.. that they are capable of starting over to live for Him, taking it one day at a time.
You don't always see fruits from your ministry, but luckily we
have been able to see some amazing things happen over the years.
It's been challenging at times to be a ministry family..but mainly a blessing.

My husband comes from a family full of youth ministers.
His big brother started Dirty Vagabond Ministry.
Each year they run the Pittsburgh Marathon and fundraise for the ministry.
We are ten days away from the race!
Here's a video of Ben's brother bob and it talks about Dirty Vagabond Ministry.
Some of the stories of how this ministry has impacted the teens will blow you away.

Ben is running the half marathon for them and Like I said, you don't always see fruits from your ministry..but in moments like this, it is so inspiring and encouraging to see the community support you and join together.
I have an amazing readership... I have known this by the sweet comments I get each week...but especially when I wrote about grieving with shannon. You have blessed me in ways I never even thought.... by your prayers and support in e-mails....
by your donations to help shannon's children. I am seriously in awe of you guys.

Thank you for taking the time to watch the video.
It's important to my husband..and it's important to me!
One year we bought a bunch of baseball tickets for them so they could take the kids to a game. My husband always says if he wasn't a youth minister he would be a baseball player for the phillies ;) We have been able to see firsthand the amazing things happening through Dirty Vagabond. Please help their mission with these kids.
All of the money they fundraise goes directly to Dirty Vagabond.

So Proud of my Husband..

I'm proud of my husband for the way he is helping me so much through this pregnancy...
The grocery store runs..gatorade runs..the back massages and letting me sleep in..
I'm proud of him for setting goals to lose weight and
already in a couple months losing 20 pounds! going after 20 more!

And I'm proud of the way he is supporting his brother's Ministry.. Dirty Vagabond..
and working so hard to raise money for those teens.

He is running the Pittsburgh Marathon Relay next weekend..
So far he has raised $1,000 in just over 2 days! His goal is 3,000.
But the Ministry is still under their goal of 30,000.. All of the runners are raising money and even though I'm not a part of it...I want to help support my husband's efforts..

So please...watch the video below..and if you can/feel called...

I have first handed seen God working in the lives of these teens!
This is my husband's big brother's ministry..
and He and his wife, with their 6 children, give all of themselves to these teens..
Would love to help them out..even if it's with a shameless blog post. ;)
Lately I've been getting 10,000 + views a day.........
PLEASE...if you are reading this..
even ten dollars can make a difference in their efforts.
I know we all have different things we support but If you can help...
it would be amazing. I'll let you know how it goes!!!! :)
It's been so exciting seeing the donations role in for Dirty Vagabond!
It is refreshing and inspiring to see people come together to help others.
Please pray for this ministry and their efforts in your prayers tonight.
God Bless!

Anddd....hopefully my husband isn't that awkward runner on sunday.
hehe love you honey. :)

My Brother-In-Law's Ministry...Dirty Vagabond

This Ministry is close to my heart since it
was started by my husband's brother, Bob.

Dirty Vagabond Ministries has done some amazing things in the lives of inner city kids.
I've been able to see it first hand... in the times the kids have joined in at bob's house for family holiday celebrations, on Retreats or when they join Bob at Church..
Here's a video they put together explaining their ministry

My hubby ben is running the relay in the pittsburgh marathon
this weekend in support of this ministry..
here's a note he e-mailed out to friends and family.
And since I consider all of you bloggy friends, I thought I would pass it along!!
Anything you can donate would be amazing..
even $5 would make a difference!

"I am running the relay in the pittsburgh marathon this weekend as a fundraiser for Dirty Vagabond Ministries ( a non profit ministry my brother Bob started for inner city teens) Check out this youtube video to see the good work they are doing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2JmF7ATK8Bo . Im asking if all of you can make a donation of at least $10. I know money is tight with everyone but im just asking you give up eating out this week. The money goes to helping all of the inner city kids in the program go on various retreats throughout the year. Here is the link you can use a credit card. Thanks for your help. http://www.active.com/donate/RUNDIRTY/benlesnefsky"
