We are having a little get together in October..

A Monster Bash! I wanted to throw

 a Toddler Friendly Halloween Party.

I am a wee bit pregnant right now.... so It's going to be simple.

We are doing a Pot Luck and I'll probably do a cute Monster Themed Table.

I have seen the Adopt a Monster pins all over Pinterest...

so today I ran to JoAnns to grab up some cheap felt to make some

friendly monsters for the girls' and their friends to adopt at the party! :)

(this by no means is a pregnancy craving strategy.............hehe.)

I thought it would be a fun fall addition to a party!

So while the kids get sugared up on monster cupcakes..

We can taste test all the yummy cheesy delicious

mac n cheese recipes people bring!

Monster Bash! (Toddler Friendly Halloween Party)

So I might have made up a Halloween Party Invitation

during their nap time today......

I am not a fan of 'scary' Halloween..

but like making it fun and playful for my girls.

Ben wants an excuse to use our fire pit.

And the girls like any party where they can dress up and adopt a monster.

More details soon. :)

I should go.. Sophie just woke up from her nap and came and

curled up on the suitcase in the middle of my family

room (still there from our trip this weekend)....
I think she is back asleep..

I made up some cute treat bag tags
for my girls to give out for Halloween!
They are fun and festive without being too spooky.
If you are looking for a way to "cute-sie" up your treat giving this year..
try out treat bag tags! The snack size ziploc bags are just the right size of sweets to treat!


You could easily make up your own tag if you
have a program to use..or Card stock and Markers!

DIY 'Peek a Boo!' Pop-Up Halloween Card

I had this idea a couple days ago..
and then during the girls' nap time
yesterday I started working on it! 

I wanted to put a special note in some 

small treat boxes I am planning on sending out. 

And this little DIY 'Peek a Boo' Card is a fun touch!
My Sophia loved playing with it...so it's toddler approved. ;)

DIY Pop-Up 'Peek a Boo!'
Halloween Card Tutorial
Supplies:
Tape
Scissors
Peek a Boo! Card
(Home Made or bought..
The one I created is offered 
in my Etsy Shop: Pretty Paperie Printables)
Sticks
(I used leftover lollipop sticks that I use for my
cupcake toppers but popsicle sticks could work too!)
Photograph
(I combined two different photos through photoshop and printed them out as one graphic..
but you could always one photo or take
two photos and cut them out/tape together.)

STEP 1 - Cut out Peek a Boo! Card and Pop Up Faces.
I made mine in Photoshop but you could easily draw one
and use cut out photographs for the pop up faces!
STEP 2 - Tape Pop Up Faces to stick..let 3 yr old play house with it.



STEP 3 - Cut small piece of paper from your scraps..
tape to back of Pop Up Card.
Leave slip in middle of paper for the stick to slide through!

The Paper attached to the stick should sit over the little piece of paper a bit..
to hold it in place so it doesn't fall through.



LOVE how this DIY turned out..
all with stuff I already had in my house!

Sophia loved it too. :)

Peek a...BOO!
I like more of a cute fun halloween card..
I wanted to make something that was festive but not scary.
This is a toddler friendly Halloween Card!

Your little pop up characters will then go on to

become play people and take rides in purple pumpkins.
they will have conversations with dollies and play house.
if you have boys....the pop up faces might be turned around and used as swords. 
but..in our hosue everything wants to play restaurant. 
even cut out people on cupcake topper sticks. :)

A Not So Spooky Halloween Party-Inspiration Board/DIY Ideas

::I warn you..feeling especially sarcastic right now. maybe it's because as I start writing this both girls are napping at the same time. i'm in a good mood..and my snarky side is coming out.::: ok. you've been warned.

Since having kids, holidays are even more fun than before!

I'm not one to get into the creepy super scary parts of Halloween..

but I want to take the fun part of it and create special memories with my girls!

What I could live without during this time of year is when horrified/confused sophia asks at the store what is that?!? and it's a 'bloody thing' and you are wishing you cut through a different isle....even the toy/drag them out before they touch everything isle would be better than this.

If you are in the same boat as me..and want to make Halloween a fun and imaginative time for you and your family/friends..without going too scary/wierd.........
then this inspiration board is for you!

I like the idea of using popsicle sticks rather than skewers...Fruit Kabobs are always nicer when you don't have to worry about injuries.
