My Sophia turns 2 today!!

i can't even believe that my baby girl is 2... life is zooming by! Ben came home from work today for lunch with a hugeeee dora balloon... i can't wait to see her reaction. he also got some "chippies" haha. simple pleasures in the life of a 2 yr old :) (she still thinks saltine crackers are "treats"..does that make me a horrible mother??) don't get me wrong this girl has her sweets...i remember the day she discovered what a donut was... oh man. that was rough. she begged for one (and by 'one' i mean the icing) for the following week..it was fun. 

 it's amazing watching her grow! she is a little blessing to our family. she has such a sweet heart. 

she has grown up so much!!! and now having sienna here i remember even more how tiny sophia was. and now she is telling me god bless you whenever i sneeze...and telling me i love you and singing me songs. she started asking for a doggie.. ben loves that one. ;)

a year ago we had a puppy dog theme party for her.. she loved doggies. and still does.

Bridal Shower Color Inspiration Board

A friend of mine from atlanta sent me an e-mail asking for ideas/inspiration for a Bridal Shower she is throwing for her niece. I was happy to help! I came up with this inspiration board to get some creative juices flowing for her! she gave me the color scheme and i went to town searching and scavenging for all things pretty. 

top row: cocktails, dessert, pom poms
middle row1: table stripes streamers, fuschia flowers
middle row2: table setting, drinks, balloons
bottom row: candy buffet table, flowers, invitation

have the theme be all around house wife "duties".. you could really have fun with this theme!

here's a "guest book" idea someone used at their wedding..but you could work it into your theme. Have the guests write wifey advice or a funny story about the bride.

Just serving desserts at your shower?? I love the presentation of these cookies!

and a great favor to include would be a jar with ingredients of the bride's favorite dessert

 (with a cute label attached ;)

first week of 2nd baby has been great......i'm still a little sore. and when sophia rams into my chest giving me a hug i cringe a bit.. i forgot how tender you get when nursing! but other than that..and the occasional hormonal imbalances...i'm doing great. i am starving constantly. and you know i have a sweet tooth. unfortunately ben does not..so i am left to eat the sweets myself. hard job but i'm managing. ;)

Day in the Life: First Week of Baby Sienna Edition

Since it's a joint baptism/birthday party bash.....

I've also been having fun putting together a table for sienna.

i've always wanted to make cloud bunting and i finally have worked it into my theme for her! 

i can't wait to share with you how it turned out!!

also been busy creating and sending out the invitation and birth announcement!

i wanted to mail them out..but with all the craziness, i found it easier (and cheaper) to just e-mail them to the guests. a shortcut that sounds good to a mama who just gave birth a week ago. :)
