My Pittsburgh Fashion Magazine Cover Shot and Inside Pages!

here it is!!! The cover shot and the inside pages from my shoot with Pittsburgh Fashion Magazine. The story of how this came about is mentioned below in the article.

what do you think?? pretty funny right? still have to get used to my face printed so large. hehe.
They are an up and coming Magazine here in pittsburgh and i loved the experience.
I'm going to try and get the rest of the photos from the shoot. They ended up not using the ones from my "closet".. probably because they used me as the model for their maternity wedding picks. natalie overload. ;) The dress is Calvin Klein that i found at gabe's for 9.99! and the jewelry they picked for me.
It's not my "typical" look...but it was fun getting dolled up!

They pulled these outfits for me from various stores for their Maternity Fashion Article.
some ideas of what to wear to a wedding when pregnant!

The Q&A they printed in the magazine:
Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m married to an amazing man, Ben. We have a 21 month old baby girl, Sophia, and are due with another girl in August! I love to make my house a home for my family and cook them yummy food. I’m passionate about design and making things pretty. I have my own small business, nataliecatherinedesign.com and do freelance digital editing, graphic design & video production. I’m a self-proclaimed mommy blogger and love sharing my creativity and learning from others in the blog world! Hop on over to Busybudgetingmama.blogspot.com for a shortcut to fabulous recipes, home and hostess ideas & super-mom-motherhood.

How would you describe your fashion style?
Classic, Feminine and Dignified.

What are your thoughts on maternity fashion?
I love that the maternity styles right now emphasize your baby belly. I wear a lot of the fitted tops. I also love wearing dresses while pregnant and there are so many lovely comfortable options right now! Luckily right now so many of the non-maternity styles are perfect for when you are pregnant so a lot of my clothes aren’t specifically maternity and can work after my pregnancy.

What is the best piece of fashion advice you’ve ever heard?
Undergarments should never be worn as Outer garments. J

What are your favorite stores in Pittsburgh?
H&M, Target, Old Navy & American Eagle.

What are your 3 favorite fashion items (article of clothing, accessory, pair of shoes, etc.)?
My Blanqi body styler, headbands (I can’t get enough of them!) & my AE Artist Jeans.

Has becoming a mom changed your style?
I think becoming a mom has made my style more comfortable and simple. I’ve switched from dangly earrings to studs just to not tempt my daughter from ripping my ear off! I used to wear heels constantly and now I love finding cute flats. It’s easier to chase a baby in flats.

Where would we find you on a Saturday morning at 11AM and what might you be wearing?
Where? Home whipping up something for lunch for my family. (possibly burning it.) Wearing?, Jeans, flats & a fitted top to show off my baby belly! Hopefully with clean hair, but if not, thrown back in a bun with one of my favorite headbands.

Does your husband ever buy you clothes?  If so, do you like his taste? (wink if you’re just trying not to hurt his feelings!)
When it comes to clothes for me, my husband is pretty good about knowing what I would like. But he usually leaves that up to me. However, he comes home from Target with items for our Sophia all the time! Yesterday he brought home a pink ballerina swimsuit.

Matching mother/daughter dresses: yes or no?
No. but definitely matching children’s clothes. I can’t wait to dress both my girls in pink tutu’s together!

.................................................................................................................................................

and a trip to ikea wouldn't be complete without a trip across the street to the pet store..
we couldn't resist. hehe. the puppies were soooo cute!!
i almosttt wanted to get one. then i remembered that i'm not insane.

Here's some shots ben took at the Pittsburgh Fashion magazine shoot yesterday.
it was so fun!! the team there was great..and made me feel all fabulous and like a pro! what a great experience..i'm so glad i said yes. Ben was chasing sophia around most of the time (our babysitter got sick!) so he didn't have a chance to take many photos.

hot mama here i come!
they had two girls curling my hair at the same time...i wanted to take them home with me. :)
I did the cover shot with 3 or 4 other outfit changes for the inside story. then they had me model some outfits they had pulled for a maternity fashion article in another area of the magazine.
the hours of watching america's next top model payed off???... haha maybe. but i was kicking up my legs and doing poses..it was seriously hilarious looking back at it. but we were having fun and i can't wait to see how they turned out.

they put my hair up for the cover shot...it was even more amazing then my wedding hair haha. i changed into my pink calvin klein dress that i got for 10 bucks at gabes. it was the photographer's favorite.
candid shot.

i was at the shoot for like 5 hours.. so by the end we were exhausted and hungry so while sophia slept in the backseat ben ran in and grabbed chipotle to go! yum.
(ps i love this guy so much. he's silly and sweet and the best dad/husband ever. he was so supportive all through the shoot and makes me feel beautiful every day. they are going to put this in the article.....the day the editor randomly approached me in the kiddie area of the mall i had been so emotionally pregnant..crying that morning that i was huge and ben as i was walking out the door hugged me and said natalie you are so beautiful you could be a model! they thought that was the craziest coincidence ever and were like please let us put that in!!) They are going to e-mail me in the next couple days with questions for the article. can't wait!
home sweet home.. but wanted to take a close up of my makeup from the shoot. i loved what she did!

i'll post more about the shoot when they send me some of the photos! can't wait! some of the outfits and looks were so glamorous! go here to check out the magazine's website. i'm so excited to be a part of it. if you are in the pittsburgh area you should go grab a copy!!! :)

hope you had a great weekend, talk to you later!

we get to brag away at my house of giggles!! hehe.
