KITCHEN INSPIRATION:

Open Shelving

In each house the hubby and I have had (we are on our 3rd-about to move to 4th), 

we've had at least some sort of open shelving and I love it!

--It makes easy access to my go-to items.

I'm all about easy when you have babies at your feet or cooking/baking during nap time

--Motivates me to cook/bake something homemade when there is pretty ingredients jarred or fresh produce out.

I love how it looks but also how it gets you feeling like whipping something up fresh!


--Keeps me on top of staying organized. 
It helps when everything has a place!


--Is a perfect storage solution for small kitchens.

Keeps the space feeling open..and uses empty vertical space!

--I love having the dishes out, showcasing 
some of my favorite pieces.
We were gifted with so many pottery barn pieces from our wedding.
I loveee dishes, bowls, pitchers..
I wish I had a huge kitchen to store them but our small 
space keeps me from buying anything else..sort of. ;)

Pattern Love-DIY

With planning in the works for our new place...

I've decided patterned walls are a MUST.

I'm going to be doing a couple different walls in the house..

and here are some photos I used for inspiration! 

I loved the richness and glamour they add to the space.. 

and some of them are so whimsical and fun!

A little pattern (big or small) can add a wow factor to any room. 

You can get these looks with stencils, painters tape or stamps!

It gives it a designed and styled look for cheap! 

Not feeling that crafty? 

you can try and track down some inexpensive wall paper. 

(but good luck..i'm on the hunt right now!.seems like all my faves are in the uk. and that is not in the budget for this busy budgeting mama... any advice ladies??)

I'm not one to get into the spooky halloween decorations...But I do love the colors of fall and autumn!! I think since having sophia I've wanted to get into all of the holidays more than usual. I came across some lovely fall decor ideas that i want to try out myself. Oh and If you are one of those people with the huge blow up pumpkin and frankenstein in your front yard.. i still love you.  :)

i want to try this but i also think it would be cute filling it with walnuts instead..i love brown.

my kitchen sink. found the little pumpkin for 99 cents at walmart! **I SAW THESE THERE THIS YEAR AS WELL..BUT THEY ARE A BIT MORE SPOOKY** holds a little votive candle.

 i think it's cute. hehe. The big pumpkin spice candle came in a pack with two large candles and three little ones..10 bucks. i burn these babies all day and they burn so slow! some candles burn so fast you can only light them when you have company. but i love having a candle lit while i do the dishes or clean the house! makes me feel cozy. :) i'll post more photos of my house later!

first week of 2nd baby has been great......i'm still a little sore. and when sophia rams into my chest giving me a hug i cringe a bit.. i forgot how tender you get when nursing! but other than that..and the occasional hormonal imbalances...i'm doing great. i am starving constantly. and you know i have a sweet tooth. unfortunately ben does not..so i am left to eat the sweets myself. hard job but i'm managing. ;)

i love this color for sophia's "big girl room" maybe the whole room or just one wall.

love these white countertops and the brightness of the space! 

and the blue subway tiles..mmm.. ::drool:: i love them. white or blue...i really want to incorporate that look into the kitchen! (in the "maybe" house we are looking at, the bathroom has original white subway tile...yeah...awesome.)

Busy day..we are having a huge street sale in our area and we are hoping those hardcore bargain shoppers come and buy up all of our stuff! It would be so nice to not move these things that we don't even want/need! ImaniMama came over earlier to grab a table for her garage sale set up across the street.. Ben and I are gonna set up on our front porch.. i'll post photos of the bargain shopping craziness on sunday. say a prayer that we make some big bucks! yay for de-cluttering. it's free-ing! (also our buyers are having their inspection today.. yay! moving forward!!)
