Nothing says love like..Freezer Crock Pot Meals.

So I spent most of our valentine's day night in the kitchen..
it was the only chance I had to finally make up the freezer bags
and we didn't want all the meat to spoil.
Very romantic. Ben even helped. ;)
(posting later this week round two of my
freezer crock pot meals.--downloadable grocery list/recipes)

Other romantic activities of the day included:
picking up our broken down van from the shop.
doing dishes.
running out of toilet paper in the house.
returning our friend's car we were borrowing.

Our morning with these cuties was fun...
Sophie loves holidays.. and they both love anything where chocolate is involved.
Earlier this week, they might have been reminded about chocolate bunnies at Easter...
the count down has already begun. gonna be a long couple months.

Daddy made breakfast. it was delish.

I had some much needed girl talk at a friend's valentine's day party in the morning.
the girls had fun playing and they had a table full of yummy treats!
This mama is seriously domesticated...she baked fresh bread DURING the party..and gave my girls pb&j's on fresh bread before we left...
It's a miracle if we even HAVE bread in our house when we need it.
my sweater- h&m    my necklace- caroline g

I made up some valentine's for my two nephews who I don't get to see often!
They are back in my hometown, atlanta.
Used some of my printables I sell. :)
I had a few orders come in where they got these and were gonna put cars in too!

I love Valentine's Day..any holiday really..
because my shop blows up with activity and then
everyone shares their projects via facebook and Instagram. :)
It's fun being a part of everyone's special day!

PS. I love this guy.
1. because he is a holy man.
2. because he is smokin hot.
4. because he didn't go crazy on a certain crabby commenter
yesterday and was the better man.
5. because he loves all of me. he is my rock.
6. because he helps me get to heaven by doing things like leaving the shower curtain wide open when he knows that drives me insane. patience bonus points.
7. he is a great dad.

Hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day - Our DIY Details

With Valentine's Day just around the corner..
I wanted to share some fun
and easy DIY Details that you can use to
decorate your home or a party!
Mini Powdered Sugar Donuts might have
been used as bribery for this photo shoot...

Here's a Summary of my DIY DETAILS.
I'll explain more on each throughout the post!
--Dollar Store Heart Doily Garland
--Dollar Store Heart Balloons
--'XO' Gold Spray Painted Letters
--2 IKEA Frames filled with Valentine's Day Themed Printables
--Thrift Store 'Donut Stand' Spray Painted Gold
--Gold Sparkly Heart Toppers
--Flower Crowns (Tutorial later this week!)

I found this cute little stand at good will one day..and knew it had potential!
I spray painted it gold (the metallic kind) and loaded it up with pretty little donuts!
The toppers were made from leftover gold sparkly card stock that I cut out with my heart craft punch(JoAnns) and taped to some candy sticks(JoAnns)

I made the GOLD 'XO' LETTERS using
Metallic Gold Spray Paint and Letters from JoAnns.
We used them on the table display but they could be cute as photo props!
I used a white IKEA storage box(from my office area) upside down
to give some height to my table.

I made up in Photoshop a couple VALENTINE'S DAY PRINTS
to put in frames as part of our Decorations!
The girls really loved this one with the cute little bumble bees. :)
You can get the Printable for yourself in my Etsy Shop.
I think they would be cute for your home decor but even for a valentine's day party!
Or printing up a bunch and framing as gifts... a fun little DIY you can use each year.

LOCATION: I took these photos in the corner of the Girls' Room...
moved their beds to the side. The Table and heart rugs are from IKEA.
OUTFITS: They are wearing basic white tops from Target...
and their Tulle Tutus I made them last year. (no sew SUPER easy.)
The girls were all about this super girly photo shoot.
It didn't take much convincing for them to participate
once I said tutus and donuts were involved...

DOILY HEART GARLAND
I grabbed 2 packs of heart doilies from the Dollar Store.
Took some Clothes pins I already had, painted one side with mod podge and dipped them in Gold Glitter from JoAnn's (bought big size and used coupon)
I used fishing line that I already had to string them up! For something even more sturdy you could use ribbon. We moved this garland to our mantle! :)

This is what happens when powdered sugar donuts are involved in photos...
Sugar high. ;) goofy girls.

Hope you found some inspiration in this post to make
your Valentine's Day extra special for your sweeties!
I am trying to help Sophia fulfill her new years resolution of "celebrate more"...
I thought that was a good resolution. ;)

I'll be sharing the Flower Crown Tutorial later this week!
or weekend...depending on life.
I seriously have been pooped/peed on every day this week
and our humongous laundry pile is proof of that.

Chocolate Pretzel Buttons Tutorial

The girls and I made up some Chocolate Pretzel Buttons to include in our sweet boxes going out to family for Valentine's Day this year.. They were having so much fun making them that I thought I would share this toddler friendly recipe! I'm always looking for "projects" that we can do together during the day..and this one was fun because we were counting..and making something to give to someone else.. they loved it. Key part is to melt the chocolates low in the oven. 275 degrees or lower (depending on your oven) I think I put mine in the end on 250 degrees..just to be safe. :)

Hope you try these out! they are perfectly kid sized..yummy..
and a fun activity to do WITH your children..They don't just have to watch!
Some chocolate will be snuck. you've been warned. ;)
We also put in the boxes some of my super-hero lollipop valentines.. and Valentine's Day Treat Bags (all printables in my etsy shop)
a couple Target "dollar bin" dish rags and some valentine's made by the girls!
Sophia drew everyone we sent mail too...
It was pretty funny. here's some examples...

Our Valentine's Day Sugar Rush

Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day!
Here's a glimpse into our sugar rushed day...
with some embarrassing videos of me with the girls at the bottom.
You will see what a dork I am..and see me in mommy action. ;)
It's worth watching just for sophia's giggles and singing.
LOVEEE my iphone from ben.. Still learning it.
any apps that I MUST get? share the wisdom.
Ben and I each got something for the girls for valentine's day..
I grabbed up at Target 2 little dolls for their dollhouse..
and ben got them little princess purses with candy necklaces inside.
Sienna was walking around all morning going...
 "happy happy.. happy happy" :)

Sienna was being wild at breakfast..thus no photos.
I only took one and it was a blurry shot of her trying
to wiggle/throw herself/escape the high chair.

Friend Camille the mod mama blogs here and sent me a valentine!
I thought it was so cute..and so did the girls!

I made eggplant parmesan for the first time last night.. my husband turned vegetarian on me and I've been trying to.. feed himmm. haha. ((Still learning what to make)) but ben is loving it and feeling great so I'm supporting him! (I made chicken parm for the girls and me...but I actually ended up eating the eggplant and had the chicken on salad today.. the last time I had eggplant parm was when I was pregnant and overdue with sophia..the doctor's orders. ;)....
fyi: didn't work. 5 days late.

If you haven't tried out the Fresh Homemade Mozzarella "Sticks" recipe than you HAVE TO. right now.. make a note of it to grab some fresh mozarella and panko bread crumbs up at the store and make these.. all time favorite salty treat...amazingness. you will love.

And now..for your entertainment..silly mommy with silly babies!
I have a feeling this iphone is going to be dangerous. haha.......

My Girls' Super Hero Lollipop Valentines

I made these up the night before a valentine's day party that my moms' group was having!
I had seen this idea around and made up my own version of it for my girls..
Sophia loves being a "super girllllll"....so it fit her perfectly.
These were zooming around the house and having conversations.
I was happy with how they came together and thought you might want to make them...
I listed them in my etsy printable shop for $10 if you want to
grab some up for your own valentines!

Choose pink.. blue.. or BOTH!
Super-Hero Lollipop Valentines- Printable PDF......$10
I left some space below for your kiddos to write their names..or scribble..:)
The Valentine's Day Party was fun.
My friend put together a cute photo booth..love her sign!
The only photos I got of sophia were of her covered in powdered donut sugar... lovely.
And that is the best shot of me and the girls.....it's an action shot...haha.
They decorated little bags to fill with valentines from each other. :)
That headband stayed on sienna all of 2.5 seconds............
trying to cutesie up the mullet.

FREE "Be Mine!" Garland Printables! - My Valentine's Day Collection

I love making printables! I had some past clients(who purchased the Christmas ones) requesting some for Valentine's Day so I made up a whole batch of cute Valentine's Day Treat Bag Tags! I think a variety of these put out would be so cute for a Valentine's Day Party..
everyone could choose what they like!

FREE "Be Mine!" Mini-Garland & "Be Mine!" Banner Printables.

Sophia LOVED helping me put these together..
making trail mix and putting each and every chocolate..

very slowly...into the ziploc snack bags. ;)

I love the idea of using goldfish for Valentine's you are giving to little ones.
My Sienna is going to turn into a goldfish.

I thought I would create a sweet
Valentine's Day Banner for my girls..
(and share it for free on my blog! CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE PRINTABLE)
We strung it up inside the girls' closet.."reading nook" (There is usually a little sofa in there)
When we first moved in I painted their room pink.(ballet slipper from Martha Stewart)
I hung up my favorite light from ikea..sweet little chandelier ($50)
and Put up some sheer Ikea curtains in the inside ($4.99 for the pair)
At first sophia's big girl bed went there..(it fit just perfect)..
but then we moved her to her own room and put a little sofa in there for reading.
But this day their ikea table was put in there and it became a little party nook!
I used 1 pack of Cake Doilies (multi size pack by Wilton- 2.99) and some thread to add a pretty backdrop! I thought it looked very anthropology..you could go crazy with those and make a gorgeous dessert table backdrop!

Also included in the FREE DOWNLOAD is this mini cake garland!
Just cut out.. fold over/snip ends.. fold over ribbon and connect sides with tape..
string up on sticks/straws or chop sticks like I did. ;)
The girls were THRILLED with it!!
The mini shoot ended with sophia being a mini me..
and arranging her dolly for a photo op. ;)

Hope you are feeling inspired to
get crafty this Valentine's Day!
Make your Valentines extra special this year and
put together some sweet treats like these for your sweeties.
Have the kiddos help! Click here to check out my shop.
Let me know if you like and use the Banner! :)
