Featured Follower & Friend-A Unique Gender Reveal Party
I have already shared when we threw our Gender Reveal Party for Sienna....
I'm a huge fan of the party theme. It's such a fun way to celebrate finding out!

I love the unique way they announced to everyone........
When we did it, (posted here) we put a pink jelly bean inside before frosting..
when some local friends thew their party, they filled the inside of cupcakes with blue frosting...
(which by the way..was AMAZING frosting (wilton's buttercream recipe).,hehe.)
I've heard of those ways before and thats why we did it that way...
but i LOVED how Abri and Ryan announced what they were having...............
details below!
details below!
"We had the ultrasound tech write down what the gender of the baby was, seal it in an envelope, and then we took the envelope to our baker. At first I had told the baker to make the inside cake filling pink or blue, and she suggested making the actual cake pink or blue, with a white fondant outside. I wanted a simple decoration on the outside of the cake so I had her do little pearls. "-Abri
They all found out they were having a girl at the same time!! I LOVE this idea.
Here's the details in her words! Thanks Abriana for sending me the info on your party! Amazing job. Congrats again!! you are gonna love having a girl. :)

I had so much fun planning it! The time between the ultrasound and the actual party (Tuesday was our ultrasound... Saturday was the party) were hard to wait, but so worth it in the end.
I did a lot of research Google-ing gender reveal parties and searching through other people's ideas. They are all the rage right now so there's plenty to go through.
For decorations on our table, I just hit up Michael's and Party City one afternoon and spent about $70 on decorations. I started off at the scrapbook paper section since I knew I wanted to make the "Girl or Boy" sign using fun paper, and then once I had picked the paper, those colors were the inspiration for the rest of the decor. I ended up with royal blue and magenta colors and just went from there. I had the square vases from Pottery Barn that we use for decor at home with fillers, so I just used them.
We only invited our parents, siblings, and a few close friends because we didn't want to assume that the gender of our baby was the most important thing going on for a lot of people's Saturday nights :) We told everyone to wear either pink or blue depending on what they thought the baby was-- then we also had pink or blue bead necklaces for people to wear as well.
On the main display table, I only had pink or blue food: blueberries and strawberries, blue corn tortillas and salsa, and Izze sparkling juice in pink and blue. Then on a side table we had more snackies and wine for everyone!
I was going to have a name voting section since we're undecided on our baby girl name, but ended up not having time for it. Thought it would be fun for people to think about while at the party. We ended up cutting the cake pretty early on, which was good since that's why everyone was there anyway!
It was a really exciting night for our little family, and I'm glad we did it. Since it's my second pregnancy, and I have a toddler running around, it's easy to not think about being pregnant as much as I did with my first. So this was a nice way to celebrate my little second baby- and my first baby girl-- and give her some attention that her big brother may already be taking a bit!! :)
