DIY GIFTS
Holiday Baked Good Recipes
& Packaging Ideas
one way to help you stay on your budget this Christmas season and to make your gift giving more personal is to bake something homemade! besides it will leave your kitchen smelling amazing and it is less stressful..besides some possible smoke/fire in the oven.

I love this idea to use with sugar cookies.
I'll probably use my own recipe..posted here . and use a knife to cut out the name tag shape..and love their tip of using a straw to cut the hole. the piping looks so fun!

I love this idea...packaging the cookies with a recipe card..and glittery
monogram of the recipient.
You could go wild with this idea...i'll use any excuse to go stare at the ribbon isle. hehe.

Buckeyes..
I blame the city of pittsburgh for introducing me to these delicious things! Ever since we moved here people all around us make these for different events and they are soo delicious. super sweet..i can only handle a couple. this year i might enlighten my southern friends and family. (or maybe i was the only one in the dark)

Chocolate and Peanut Butter Buckeyes

makes about 13 dozen

2 lbs. powdered sugar

3 cups peanut butter (smooth and not the all-natural kind)
1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
1 1/2 lb. chocolate chips, semi-sweet (24 oz.)
1/2 bar edible paraffin wax*

i've never made Springerle Cookies before..have you??
but i love how these turned out. You roll the dough out onto a floured surface...imprint with a clean floured rubber stamp..dry overnight and then bake. the recipe is here !

I love these containers from the container store...but heck go to the dollar store
they have great containers that you can spruce up with paper and ribbons.

Peppermint Bark.
i just love how festive this is..without even trying. hehe.
recipe here

i love these sweet gift tags from thefarmchicks.com !
found them while visiting www.bakerella.com

The packaging at www.shopnicepackage.com is amazing!
love the earthiness but sparkle to it all.

while you start thinking about your recipes to pack up and send off to family and friends..check out some recipes i posted earlier!
I'll be posting some more of my favorite recipes soon.

My sugar cookies would never turn out that perfect so instead I'll make the deliciousness that is buckeyes.
